Have You Looked At The Real Estate Market In Austin

One of the fastest growing cities in America, Austin, Texas, has a rich history, beautiful landscapes, and one of the most active real estate markets in the country. Austin is home to nearly three quarters of a million people and is nestled inside a booming metropolis of over one and a half million citizens, that continues to grow with continued investment in the Austin real estate market. Take a look at national trust cottages.

Native Americans, like the Apache and Comanche, were the earliest people to reside in what is now known as Austin. Later in the 1830’s the area was settled by white Americans and named Waterloo. The area became popular and in the mid-1800s, the congress of Texas appointed the Austin real estate as the Capitol. Waterloo was renamed Austin after the “Father of Texas”, Stephen F Austin who successfully colonized the area with settlers from the United States.

Historically, Stephen Austin was actually the first Austin real estate agent. The Mexican governmanet bestowed Austin with a land grant in an effort to populate the area. Austin brought settlers from other parts of the USA to settle in this new territory. Advertising in Louisiana and other nearby states to bring people into Texas, he extolled the many benefits of the area and offered a reasonable price for settlers. The original cost of Austin real estate at the time, was sold for about 12 cents an acre. Find a national trust cottage here.

Aside from the fantastic scenery of the Colorado River, Austin offers fantastic views of the countryside. The street view from just outside downtown Austin allows one to virtually see for miles with the flat lay of the land and majestic building complexes reaching skyward. Showing off the beauty of the riverfront businesses and the sparkling lights of the downtown nightlife to the revered classical structures from past eras, the scenery of many areas in the Austin real estate market are a splendid eye-pleasing experience.

The Austin real estate market has again opened up wide, this time for ’settlers’ of the 21st century. Just like nearly 200 years ago, the area is enjoying an upbeat and brisk real estate market. Even though most of the country has experienced a slow decline in property transactions, the Austin real estate market is seeing another increase in interest and buying, even from foreign investors.

A market that never has slowed for the last 200 years, Austin has witnessed amazing growth. The average population has expanded more than 30% every decade since the 1950’s, while the per capita and median housing costs have stayed relatively in line with the rest of the nation. This results in a thriving growth of the economy, without the rising costs of inflation, making Austin real estate one of the best investments in America.
